Do I need a BEE certificate to tender?
Under R10 million turnover, a sworn EME affidavit is enough and costs nothing to commission. It typically scores you as a level 4 contributor automatically, or level 1 or 2 with majority black ownership.
Can I tender as a brand new company?
You can register on CSD from day one. Functionality criteria on bigger tenders may require track record, but sub-contracting, quotations under R30 000 and smaller RFQs are realistic starting points while your record builds.
