Domain, email and online presence
Get a proper business address, a domain you own and an online setup people can trust. We set up the accounts in your name, protect the email setup and hand every login over in writing.
Domain, email and online presence costs R690 at ProperSA. That is our fixed service fee; government and authority fees are charged at cost on top. Turnaround: typically 2 to 4 business days. If you give us everything we ask for and we still fail to deliver what this page promises, we refund our fee; a refusal by the authority is not refundable.
Already have a website?
Before you spend money on ads or a rebuild, check whether people can find it, use it on a phone and understand what you offer.
The Digital Doctor provides this separate website assessment. Their team will explain what is working, what is missing and what to fix first.
You keep control from day one.
We work under your written authority. The domain, email and DNS accounts belong to you, so you can change providers or add a web developer without being held hostage.
Domain renewal after year one is paid directly to the registrar at its standard fee. We remind you before the first renewal.
How ordering works
- Order online with the button below and pay securely by card or instant EFT (PayFast), or wait for the EFT invoice.
- Complete the short online form waiting in your client portal: your preferred domain names, the mailboxes you want and your business details.
- We set everything up in your name, usually within 2 to 4 business days, and your handover sheet lands in your portal.
- The price you see is the price you pay for the first year of the domain and the full setup, and if you give us everything we ask for and we still fail to deliver what this page describes, we refund our fee. A refusal by the authority, or a delay caused by missing information from you, is not refundable. Full rules in our terms.
What we need from you
- Your registered business name and registration number, since these have to appear on the site by law.
- A working email address and contact number that you will actually monitor.
- Your physical or trading address.
- What you do, in a few sentences, and who you do it for.
- Any logo, photographs or existing material you want used. If you have none, say so; it changes the approach rather than stopping it.
- Your preferred domain name, and a second choice.
One legal point worth knowing. If you sell anything online, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act requires a specific set of details to be on the site: your legal name and registration number, physical address, contact details, and your terms. It is not decoration, and a site without it is non-compliant from the day it goes live.
Frequently asked questions
Who owns the domain you register for me?
You do. The domain is registered in your name with your own registrar account, and every login is handed over to you in writing. We set things up under your authority; we do not hold your domain.
Why do I need SPF, DKIM and DMARC on my email?
Without them, your invoices land in spam and criminals can send email that looks like it comes from your domain. These three DNS records authenticate your mail and tell receiving servers to reject fakes.
Is a co.za domain better than .com for a South African business?
For a business trading in South Africa, co.za signals local presence and usually costs less. If the .com is available too, registering both and pointing one at the other protects the brand.
Do you build the website as well?
This service sets up the foundation: domain, email, DNS and your Google Business Profile. If you need a full website or an independent website health check, we say so upfront. The Digital Doctor provides that separate service, and you keep every login either way.
What does the domain cost after the first year?
The registrar's standard renewal fee, currently around R100 to R200 a year for a co.za, billed to you directly because the account is yours. We remind you before the first renewal so it never lapses.
